Where FRP replaces steel

FRP does not rust, is much lighter than steel, is electrically non-conductive and can be cut on site without hot work. That makes it the default choice in wastewater plants, desalination intakes, chemical bunds, cooling towers, offshore and coastal structures — anywhere galvanised steel needs frequent replacement.

Documentation first

FRP is specified by resin system, fire performance and load/deflection. For each quotation we provide the manufacturer’s load tables for the exact panel or profile, resin type (orthophthalic, isophthalic or vinyl ester), and the fire-test evidence that exists — we do not re-label third-party results as our own.

Frequently asked questions

Which resin should I choose?

Orthophthalic polyester for general use, isophthalic for improved chemical resistance, vinyl ester for aggressive chemicals and higher temperatures. Send the chemical exposure and temperature and we will check the manufacturer’s resistance guide.

Do you provide fire-retardant grades?

Yes, fire-retardant formulations are available. Fire classifications (for example ASTM E84 flame spread) are only stated where the manufacturing partner holds a test report for that product, and the report is supplied with the quotation.

Can you cut panels to our drawings?

Yes. Panels can be cut and edge-banded to a cutting list, labelled per area and packed in installation sequence.
