Moulded or pultruded?

Moulded grating is cast as a single piece with a square mesh (commonly 38 × 38 mm) and resin-rich surface. It carries load in both directions, has high corrosion resistance and is easy to cut — the default for walkways and platforms.

Pultruded grating is assembled from continuous-fibre I- or T-bars joined by cross rods. It has far higher stiffness in the bar direction and therefore spans further between supports, at the cost of load being carried in one direction.
