Raised paving on pedestals keeps the finished surface level while water drains freely underneath — the standard build-up for roof terraces, podium decks, balconies and plant-room walkways over waterproofing. It pairs naturally with drainage boards and green-roof layers, which is why we supply it to the same roofing and landscape contractors.
A pedestal system is specified by height range (fixed shims for a few millimetres, threaded pedestals and extension collars for greater heights), head type (spacer tabs that set a consistent joint, typically 3–8 mm), slope correction (self-levelling heads or correctors for falls, commonly up to about 5° or 7–8 %), and load per pedestal for the paver size and use.
We supply complete kits — pedestals, extension rings, shims, slope correctors, rubber pads and perimeter/edge restraints — so the whole terrace can be ordered from one bill of quantities. Slope correctors and spacer clips are supplied as part of the kit rather than as separate items.

Check national fire rules before specifying combustible materials on balconies and terraces of residential buildings (for example UK restrictions on combustible materials in external walls and balconies of relevant buildings). Metal pedestals are available where non-combustible supports are required.

Frequently asked questions
How many pedestals per paver?
Usually one at each corner shared between four pavers, plus intermediate supports for large or thin pavers; follow the paver manufacturer’s span guidance.
Can pedestals sit directly on a waterproofing membrane?
Often yes with a protection or rubber pad, but confirm compatibility with the membrane manufacturer.
Do you sell slope correctors separately?
They are supplied as part of pedestal kits so heights, heads and correctors match; replacement packs can be added to an order.
